A young Arab-French woman on an introspective journey visits her childhood friend in New York City before heading to the woods upstate.
About The Film

An Arab-French young woman visiting her childhood friend in New York City, Hafsia struggles to sufficiently explain her increasingly complex yearnings, due to language barriers and a philosophy she is still working out. Pushing even further into the unknown, she departs the city for a remote cabin upstate, where her communion with nature is impeded by new arrivals.

Newcomer Hafsia Herzi is a wonder in the role, effortlessly shifting from ephemeral bursts of full-bodied emotion to the stymied frustration of being truly lost in the world. Director Mark Jackson has thoughtfully crafted a richly provocative work, grounded in realism while exploring the nebulous, and offering up subtle observations on everything from nature to communication to the American identity.
